We understand that surgery can be a daunting prospect for any pet parent. Even routine procedures like spaying or neutering can still give rise to anxiety, but you can rest easy when your pet is with Long Valley Animal Hospital. Our veterinary staff is dedicated to providing you and your pets the best experience possible, and our surgeons utilize the best technology and most up to date procedures in caring for your pet.
What to expect
Before placing your pet under any anesthesia, we examine your pet and run a wide array of pre-surgical screenings to make sure he or she is healthy enough for surgery. Some pets have hidden conditions that may need to be addressed prior to a procedure. Once we have an idea of your pet’s health baseline, we will help guide you in preparing for your pet for what’s to come.
We offer a wide variety of surgical procedures, including:
- Soft tissue surgeries
- Orthopedic surgeries
After veterinary surgery
After surgery, your pet will be closely monitored by our staff to ensure a full recovery. In some cases, this may require that your best friend to stay with us overnight. They’ll be kept as comfortable as possible while we make sure their vital signs are monitored, appropriate pain medication is administered, and you, the owner, are instructed on proper recovery care before you take your pet home.
