Our Doctors

Russell S. Earl, DVM

Upon graduation from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986, Dr. Earl returned to his native New Jersey to begin his veterinary career.

After working as an associate at a couple of veterinary hospitals in North Jersey for more than 10 years, Dr. Earl began a successful run as a relief veterinarian, providing interim services to over 25 vacationing and under-staffed veterinarians throughout north and central New Jersey.

It was during one of these stints at Long Valley that he had learned that the hospital was for sale. In November 2010, Dr. Earl took over the reins of Long Valley Animal Hospital, “Where Cold Noses Meet Warm Hearts”.

Dr. Earl is a member of AAHA (American Animal Hospital Associates), AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) and the NJVMA (New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association). In the past, he had served as the head of the hospital inspection committee for the NJVMA. He is also a contributing author to a previous publication by the NJVMA dealing with recognizing and treating animal abuse.

In his spare time, Dr. Earl is an avid fan of music of multiple genres. He also enjoys hiking and spending time with his three daughters.
