Dr. Russell S. Earl

Owner

Helping animals has been a life-long ambition for Dr. Earl, who worked in a pet store and at a veterinary hospital through high school. Upon graduation from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986, Dr. Earl returned to his native New Jersey to begin his veterinary career.

After serving as an associate at a couple of veterinary hospitals in North Jersey for more than ten years, Dr. Earl began a successful run as a relief veterinarian, providing interim services to over 25 veterinary practices throughout North and Central New Jersey.

It was during one of these stints at Long Valley that he learned the hospital was for sale. In November 2010, Dr. Earl took over the reins of Long Valley Animal Hospital, “Where Cold Noses Meet Warm Hearts.”

Dr. Earl is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association (NJVMA). In the past, he served as the head of the NJVMA’s hospital inspection committee, authored an article on identifying and treating animal abuse for one of their publications, and is recognized by local media as a knowledgeable resource about veterinary issues.

In his spare time, Dr. Earl is an avid fan of multiple genres of music, including musical theatre, and is learning to play guitar. He also enjoys hiking and spending time with his three daughters, Anachrista, Emmalise, and Faith Victoria.
